Disclaimer: Most e-bikes in this collection are equipped with a throttle as standard, while others can be installed with one as an add-on. E-bikes equipped with a throttle do not comply with the UK’s Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) regulations. However, for 250W models limited to 15.5mph, the throttle can be removed either prior to delivery or by the customer after delivery, making them road legal. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the bike complies with local laws and regulations. E-bikes that have a motor output exceeding 250w and/or speed assistance exceeding 15.5mph and/or a throttle cannot be used on UK public roads without first obtaining type approval, insurance, tax, displaying a number plate and undergoing an MOT. In the UK, only e-bikes that comply with EAPC Regulations can be used on UK public roads without tax, insurance or registration. You can find out more about EAPC Regulations here: https://www.gov.uk/electric-bike-rules. If you purchase an e-bike that does not meet these regulations, it can only be used off-road on private land unless you obtain type approval, insurance, tax, display a number plate and an MOT. For the avoidance of doubt, you will be responsible for obtaining such type approval, insurance, tax, registration and MOT. If you are purchasing an e-bike from outside of the UK, you are responsible for checking and complying with the applicable laws and regulations relating to e-bike use in your jurisdiction and where you intend to use the e-bike. If you have any doubts regarding this, please send an email to info@bikeyardonline.co.uk or give us a call on 0333 880 7203 and we will be happy to assist.
