Ampere X-Trail Pro - Mid-Drive Power for the Trails

The X-Trail Pro takes Ampere's popular X-Trail mountain bike and moves the motor to the centre of the bike. A 250W 36V mid-drive motor delivers up to 90Nm of torque through the gears, so steep climbs, loose gravel and long days in the hills feel far more manageable. Because the power is applied at the cranks, the assistance feels natural and responsive, and the weight sits low and central for confident, balanced handling.

Built for Off-Road Comfort and Control

A Suntour X132 air suspension fork soaks up roots, ruts and rough tracks, and its lockout firms things up for efficient climbing or smooth tarmac. Schwalbe Smart Sam 2.2" tyres grip well on mixed surfaces, while Shimano MT-200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear give strong, consistent stopping on the way back down. Shimano CUES 9-speed gearing with an 11-36T cassette provides an easy climbing gear and plenty of range for faster sections.

Integrated Battery With Up to 80 Miles of Range

The battery sits neatly inside the down tube of the 6061 aluminium frame, and internal cable routing keeps the whole bike clean and tidy. Choose a 10Ah, 15Ah or 17.5Ah 36V battery depending on how far you like to ride - the 17.5Ah option gives up to 80 miles per charge. A large, centrally mounted TFT colour display, 4mph walk assist, a powerful 100 lux integrated front light and a seat post rear light round off a well-equipped package.

Two Frame Sizes to Suit Your Height

The 18" frame with 27.5" wheels suits riders from around 5ft5 to 6ft and feels nimble on twisty singletrack, while the 21" frame with 29" wheels suits taller riders from 6ft to 6ft5 and rolls confidently over rough ground. Both weigh approx. 23kg, are finished in Molton Red and are UK road legal with assistance up to 15.5mph.

Want to make rides even more of a breeze? This bike can come with an optional throttle - just add the throttle to your cart here. But please note that under current UK law, Ampere bikes fitted with this throttle add-on option are illegal to use on public land. These are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

As standard, all Ampere bikes are 90% built and fully inspected before dispatch. With standard delivery, you'll just need to fit the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, seat and battery.

While customer feedback confirms that the bike is easy to assemble, we can also take the hassle away with our Bike Build Service which completes 99% of the assembly for you.

If you are between sizes, we always recommend sizing down because a smaller bike can always be made larger (e.g. with a longer stem and/or seat post), but a larger bike can not be made smaller.
