Hub Drive Electric Bikes

Hub motor electric bikes are the simplest, most reliable way to add power-assist to everyday cycling. Hub motors sit inside the front or rear wheel and drive it directly, leaving your chain, gears, and bottom bracket untouched - so there's far less to service and the ride stays quiet and smooth. For most UK riders - commuting, leisure rides, school runs, towpath cycling, gentle hills - a hub motor ebike is the best-value, lowest-maintenance choice you can make.

Hub motor vs mid-drive: which should you choose?

Hub motors push the wheel directly: quiet, sealed, low-maintenance, and ideal for flat to rolling terrain. Mid-drive (crank) motors send power through the chain and gears, giving more torque on steep climbs but adding wear, complexity, and cost. Unless you ride somewhere genuinely mountainous, a hub motor is more than enough for British roads, lanes, and paths.

Brands we stock

We carry an extensive range of hub-driven electric bikes from Ampere, Claud Butler, Falcon, and other trusted brands - covering step-through frames, crossbar commuters, folding ebikes, and retro cruisers.

Almost every bike arrives fully assembled - just attach the pedals, straighten the handlebars, and ride. Free UK delivery is included, and flexible finance options are available at checkout to spread the cost.
